    1967 - A Fresh Start

    A young Luigi arrives in NYC from Italy, after immigrating to the US by boat. He eagerly but nervously steps foot onto American soil speaking no English, with only $5 to his name and a desire to achieve the American Dream. He quickly begins his journey, heading to Chicago in search of work and a new life in America.

    1970 - Life & Work

    His first introduction to the world of food lands Luigi in the grocery business as a bagger, where he begins to explore Chicago’s local food scene and the beautiful city itself. He spends the next several years developing relationships and learning from his new friends.

    1975 - Gathering Place

    Luigi channels his enjoyment for food and people and opens his own social club, where friends and family would come gather. This inspires him even further to set his sights high and follow his dreams of bringing people together over great food.

    1980 - Building Blocks

    Building upon his true passion for great food, Luigi opens an Italian restaurant called La Capannina in the city of Chicago. He applies the knowledge and work ethic imparted upon him since his arrival in the states to create a special place for his customers, family and friends.

    1982 - Fresh Concepts

    Luigi purchases a vintage pasta machine to start making fresh pasta in the center of his restaurant, and his customers fall in love with the idea. La Capannina is soon the talk of the town and Luigi’s fresh pasta concept is the star of the show.

    1987 - A Star Is Born

    After receiving high praise and an overwhelmingly positive response since launching his fresh pasta concept, Luigi decides to start selling his pasta to other restaurants out of the kitchen of La Capannina, and the Perfect Pasta name was born.

    1989 - On the Move

    Success of the new Perfect Pasta forces Luigi to move its operation to a small manufacturing building in the suburbs of Chicago, where he then purchases a used truck and begins to deliver pasta products to local retailers and restaurants himself to further build the Perfect Pasta brand name.

    1994 - A Family Affair

    With a full house – a wife and three children – Luigi enlists the help of his brother to help him run the business. Together they strategized and began to grow Perfect Pasta's product offerings as well as its customer base.

    1999 - Coming Together

    A strategic business partnership forms between Luigi of Perfect Pasta and Mario of family-owned Marco Foods in Chicago, IL. Their two families merged their customer base and operations, and worked tirelessly to grow the Perfect Pasta and expand their distribution footprint beyond a regional reach.

    2001 - Taking Flight

    Perfect Pasta launches its first in-flight meal for a major US airline as part of a collaborative effort with a long-standing industry partner, which has flourished ever since. Perfect Pasta's products can now be found at 35,000 feet from economy to first class on domestic and international flights across many of today's major airline carriers.

    2006 - A New Home

    Perfect Pasta's growth again forces a move into a 35,000 sq. ft. facility in the Chicago suburbs to continue expanding its gourmet pasta, entree and sauce business nationally. Perfect Pasta now supplies its products to airlines, railways, catering menus, restaurants and retailers across the country. Perfect Pasta currently operates in a 50,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility that's USDA inspected, HACCP certified and FSMA compliant with a staff of dedicated employees directed by a top-notch Quality Control program.

    2012 - Pasta Evolution

    Perfect Pasta unveils a full line of gluten-free pasta options, produced locally in a dedicated facility. The importance of being conscious of customers’ dietary restrictions and living choices, and to offer products that fulfill those needs cannot be ignored or overshadowed, and Perfect Pasta continues to evolve in this space.

    2018 - For the Future

    Perfect Pasta opens a 28,000 sq. ft. distribution facility with Mario's expertise in building planning and operations, paired with a brand new state-of-the-art production line at the manufacturing plant in order to meet increased consumer demand for gourmet pasta products across the United States and internationally. A refreshed culinary product development initiative with a sharply-focused customer-first approach takes the business to new heights.
